Description
"Immerse yourself in the fast-paced world of Top Gear, a legendary racing game launched on Super NES in 1992. Developed by Gremlin Graphics and published by Kemco, this game marked the genesis of the Top Gear franchise, unrelated to the TV series of the same name. Top Gear offers a unique blend of strategic racing and skillful gear shifting, with the goal of defeating competitors to become the world's fastest driver. Beginning with a plethora of customization options, players can choose from four distinctive cars and select their preferred transmission type. The game also features three 'nitros' boosts for a short-term speed surge. Additionally, each race demands strategic pit stops for refueling, adding an extra layer of realism and challenge. With its innovative password save system and captivating grayscale background pictures, Top Gear offers an immersive retro gaming experience. The game notably gained popularity in Latin America, influencing Brazilian game developers and even inspiring the creation of the arcade racing game, Horizon Chase - World Tour.
Game Controls
Top Gear offers the choice between automatic and manual transmission. In the manual mode, players take on the additional challenge of shifting gears during the race. Players also control their 'nitros' for a speed boost and must strategically stop at pits for refueling.
