Description

Shadow of the Ninja is a captivating action game, initially launched in 1990 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Set in a futuristic version of New York City under the tyrannical rule of Emperor Garuda, the game offers an exhilarating journey of bravery and resistance. The protagonists, Lord Hayate and Lady Kaede, from the renowned Iga clan, are on a mission to infiltrate the stronghold and eliminate the dictator. The game offers a multiplayer mode where two players can join the action simultaneously. The characters, although visually distinct, offer no performance difference, allowing the player to choose based on personal preference. The game's weapon system includes a katana and a kusarigama, each with unique strengths and weaknesses. The game also features throwable shurikens and hand grenades, adding an extra layer of strategy. With five levels and 16 stages, the game offers a diverse range of enemy characters and bosses. The retro gaming experience is intensified with the original designs by Kazuhiko Ishihara and Shunichi Taniguchi, and the captivating soundtrack by Iku Mizutani and Kouichi Yamanishi.
