Description
Rockin' Kats is a captivating platform game from the 90s. Produced by Atlus in 1991, this retro game transports you to a criminal-infested New York City where you play as Willy, a jazz cat also known as 'The Rockin' Kat.' Your mission: rescue Jill, Willy's girlfriend, from the clutches of local crime boss, Mugsy, and his dog gang. Equipped with a punch gun, navigate Willy through seven unique levels featuring varying themes, enemies, and bosses. The punch gun serves as a weapon and a tool to swing across obstacles. The game offers a choice of four initial stages that can be played in any order, while the fifth stage unlocks after the completion of the previous ones. The stages include a carnival, a moving plane, and a park. 'Shopping' and 'bonus' channels offer opportunities to power-up and gain extra lives. A password feature aids progress tracking, and a bonus 'secret' stage is available post-credits for a heightened challenge. Immerse yourself in this retro platformer and master the punch gun to save the day!
Game Controls
The game controls for Rockin' Kats are as per the original Nintendo Entertainment System's setup. The player uses the directional pad to move Willy, the A button to jump, and the B button to shoot from the punch gun. The punch gun can also be used to hook onto and swing from objects, or to grab and throw certain items.
